I’m linking up with Jennifer from Rowdy in First Grade.
My Something Good From School
My students are really interested in learning. I love how self aware they are. My students get to leave math twice a week to go to the computer lab and use Dreambox Math. Dreambox Math is a paid website that we are using for intervention. The kids like it so much one even made up a song about it. You have to hear it because the words don’t do it justice: Dreambox, dreambox, dreambox.
On more than one occasion, I’ve had students ask permission to stay in class instead of going to Dreambox. In each case, the student wanted additional help with that day’s skill and didn’t feel comfortable leaving. I LOVE THAT. Of course, I let them stay and there were plenty of kids ready to go in their place.
I love the fact that my students want to learn and are monitoring whether they are understanding our concepts.
My Something Good From Home
Last Friday, my husband and I went to an As Game. While I love watching football, watching baseball isn’t that exciting for me. So, I made sure to get tickets for Fireworks night. I love fireworks. I feel like a little kid watching them. It turned out to also be Star Wars night. There were people in Star Wars costumes all over the place. The fireworks were amazing. They were some of the best I’ve seen. Here is a small clip of part of the show. We decided to stay in our seats rather than go out on the field. It was a great decision because they went off right over our heads. I realized half way through that my mouth was wide open in awe. We had such a good time.
