How cool is this?!?!
Google maps has headed under water. You can now see a “street view” tour of some wonderful reefs.
I love the ocean. That simple sentence doesn’t express it well, but the ocean is part of my soul. There is nothing as peaceful or healing as sitting on the shore listening to the waves, except being in the ocean.
One of my happiest memories is swimming with a sea turtle in Maui. There is something so peaceful about snorkeling. Floating in the water. Beautiful coral. Fish swimming by. Light creating beautiful shadows.
It’s my happy place. My some day. Some day we will live in a place where we can do that everyday. Someday we will visit Australia so we can enjoy the Great Barrier Reef.
In the meantime, google’s new ocean feature will keep me informed about where I want to visit. I feel blessed being able to say that I’ve snorkeled at Molokini Crater, which is one of the sites you can tour. My husband has told me about his memories of his first experience snorkeling at Hanauma Bay and now I can see why he loved it.
I can’t wait to share this with my students, who have never had the opportunity to experience this in person. I’m sure they will love it.
